Yiwen Cao

Yiwen (Even) Cao was born in Shanghai, China, and started learning the piano at the age of three. In 2013, she was admitted to the Music Elementary School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music studying with Professor Jin Tang and Professor Zijie Wu; in 2016, she was admitted to Music Middle School Affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Natalia Filippova. Her recent accomplishment includes 1st Prize in German Bonn “Grand Prize Virtuoso”International Music Competition in 2020, 1st Prize in V Future Stars International Piano Competition Young Virtuosi Category and The 3rd WPTA Singapore International Piano Competition in 2021, 1st Prize in International Music Competition “Best Bach Performance” I and IV Danubia Talents Liszt International Music Competition in 2022. In 2024, she made her orchestra debut with Eastman Philharmonia in Kodak Hall, performing Prokofiev Concerto No.2. Currently she is a sophomore student at Eastman School of Music with Professor Alan Chow, majoring in piano performance and music theory. In her spare time, Yiwen enjoys writing various songs and compositions. Her newest works could be found on YouTube.
