Biography

Teng Fu was born in Zhengzhou, China in 1988. At the age of six, he began his study with the prestigious Chinese composer and pianist Xiaosheng Zhao. At age eleven, he was admitted to the Primary Music School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2002, Teng Fu was enrolled in the Music School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music with a first place in piano and was directed by Prof. Zhiwei Zhang and Qifang Li. From 2006 to 2013, Teng Fu attended Monsignor Farrell High School in New York and studied music at the Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College on a full scholarship. Within these seven years, he has earned a high school diploma, a precollege diploma from Manhattan School of Music and a B.M. and M.M. from Mannes College. He has given piano recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Lincoln Center, Manhattan School of Music and Mannes Concert Hall, and was described as a striking piano genius by many world famous pianists such as Richard Goode and Ann Schein. In 2014, Teng Fu entered the doctoral program in piano performance at The University of Kansas, with Dr.Scott McBride Smith.
